It has strong adsorption performance, can adsorb slag and improve the purity of aluminum alloy. Moreover, the chemical structure of sodium hexafluoroaluminate is similar to that of alumina.


On the one hand, they can dissolve each other at high temperature, on the other hand, they can improve the surface tension when they contact with aluminum melt, and then remove alumina from aluminum alloy melt; The addition of sodium fluoride can corrode the metal on the interface between alumina and aluminum, make the oxide film fall off and fall into the flux, and then purify the aluminum alloy.
